Local Meetups

Legacy Meetups are intentional in-person gatherings where young Black golfers come together to build community, confidence, and cultural connection — all while spending meaningful time on the course.

They are not clinics.
They are not performance-focused sessions.
They are identity-centered experiences designed to support the whole child.

Our meetups give young golfers a space to feel seen, encouraged, and surrounded by peers who look like them and share similar journeys in the sport.

Why Local Meetups Matter

Golf can be a lonely space for Black junior golfers.
Legacy Meetups make sure they don’t have to navigate it alone.

Through conversation, history, golf, and shared experiences, kids learn that:

  • Their identity matters

  • Their presence in golf is powerful

  • They are part of a larger story

  • Community can strengthen their confidence

This is where they build friendships that last beyond the course.

Who Meetups Are For

Black junior golfers

  • Ages 7–16

  • Kids who already play golf (beginner, intermediate, or advanced)

  • Juniors who want community, culture, and belonging in the game

Meetups are designed for any young golfer who wants to feel connected — not for beginners picking up the game for the first time.

What Happens at a Meetup

Each meetup follows a consistent, meaningful structure:

1. Welcome & Check-In

A warm start that helps kids settle in and connect.

2. Legacy Moment

A story highlighting Black golf pioneers and history.

3. Circle Conversation

A guided discussion focused on identity, mindset, confidence, or belonging.

4. On-Course or Practice Time

Fun, low-pressure golf time that allows kids to play, learn, and grow together.

5. Reflection & Closing

Kids share what they learned, how they grew, or how they felt about the session.

6. Eating Together

We share food, build relationships, and foster real community.

Where Meetups Take Place

Meetups are held at local golf courses, practice facilities, or indoor golf centers depending on the season and location.

Exact locations are shared with enrolled families.
